International GCSE papers are not interchangeable with UK GCSE papers. Check the specification code on your course materials and the paper cover. If your school follows a modular course, Double Award or another science qualification, confirm the correct resources with your teacher instead of choosing by subject name alone.
What the question paper and mark scheme each do
The question paper gives you a timed task. The matching mark scheme helps you identify credited scientific points, acceptable calculations and the structure of a successful answer. Keep the scheme closed until you have made an honest attempt. Reading answers first makes familiar questions feel easier without showing what you can do independently.
A mark scheme is not always a full teaching explanation. If a step is unclear, return to your notes or ask for help, then write a short explanation of why the answer works. Do not assume that separately advertised worked solutions or examiner reports are included in every QP + MS option.
Biology: turn facts into explanations
Practise linking structure to function and giving a cause followed by its consequence. When reviewing an answer about transport, enzymes or ecology, check that you used the information in the question rather than writing a general paragraph about the topic. Read command words carefully: a description and an explanation need different kinds of detail.
For data questions, quote relevant values with units and compare like with like. If your answer says a change is significant, check whether the evidence actually supports that statement. Record missing terminology separately from mistakes in biological reasoning.
Chemistry: find the first incorrect step
For calculations, show quantities, units and the relationship used. A wrong final number may begin with a mistaken formula, an incorrect reaction ratio or a unit conversion. Correcting that first step is more useful than copying the numerical answer from the mark scheme.
For written answers, explain particle behaviour, bonding or reaction changes precisely. Include observations when asked for observations, and explanations when asked for reasons. Keep equation balancing and relevant state symbols in your practice routine.
Physics: connect models, equations and units
Choose an equation because it describes the situation, not simply because it contains familiar symbols. Write down known quantities, convert units and check whether the result is plausible. Review interpretation errors separately from substitution and arithmetic.
In practical questions, explain how measurements would be taken and how a specific improvement helps. Suggestions such as “be more accurate” need an actual change to the method. Practise using graphs to describe trends and obtain the quantity requested.
A three-session routine for each science paper
- Attempt: follow the paper’s time and equipment instructions and finish without consulting answers.
- Review: use the matching mark scheme to identify missing scientific points, calculation errors and misunderstood command words.
- Repair and retest: study three weaknesses, retry those questions after a gap and use a different question to check transfer.
Keep a small record containing the topic, your mistake and the correction. Use the full syllabus to plan coverage: a single 2026 paper cannot represent every possible topic. School mock preparation means learning the course and exam skills; these resources do not reveal which assessment your school will choose.
Frequently asked questions
Are these May/June 2026 predicted papers?
No. This article covers resources listed as May/June 2026 question papers and mark schemes. Predicted practice papers have their own product descriptions.
Which science should I buy?
Choose your enrolled qualification and subject, then match the specification code, paper and version. Biology, Chemistry and Physics are separate listings.
Are full worked solutions included?
Check the product option. A question paper plus mark scheme does not automatically include an additional step-by-step solution document.
Can 2026 papers help with 2027 revision?
Yes, if they match your course and current specification. Combine them with topic practice and other suitable papers rather than relying on one examination series.
