Edexcel A Level Grade Boundaries 2026: Official PDF and Grade Calculation Guide

Find the official Edexcel A Level grade boundaries 2026 PDF, check your qualification code and see how to interpret a Maths grade from total marks.

Edexcel A Level grade boundaries 2026 are published by Pearson in its June 2026 GCE AS/A Level boundaries document. Use the official June 2026 PDF, find your qualification code and check the correct subject and assessment combination before comparing your marks.

Quick answer: A grade boundary is the minimum mark for a grade. Check the maximum mark and the exact qualification row. A percentage from one paper is not automatically the overall qualification grade, and 2026 boundaries are not guaranteed thresholds for a future series.

Where to download the official boundaries

Pearson’s grade boundaries page separates GCE, International A Level, GCSE and International GCSE documents. Choose June 2026 GCE for UK Edexcel AS and A Level. Keep the PDF open beside your marks rather than relying on a screenshot with the qualification name or maximum mark cropped out.

How to interpret a practice result

Suppose your marks on the three 9MA0 papers are 70, 68 and 65. The total is 203 out of 300. Compared with the June 2026 qualification boundaries above, that reaches B and is seven marks below A. This is an illustrative practice calculation, not an official result.

Use the seven-mark gap to make a revision decision. Identify which questions contained recoverable errors, such as a lost minus sign, an unlabelled answer or a method you abandoned too early. A target like “recover two algebra marks and complete the final statistics calculation” gives you a clearer next step than simply “get an A”.

Overall boundaries and component boundaries

Overall qualification boundaries and notional component boundaries serve different purposes. Do not assign a final A Level grade by averaging letters from individual papers. For any course involving weighting or optional combinations, follow the correct qualification row and awarding-body method. If the paper combination or mark scale is unclear, ask your teacher or examinations officer before calculating.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Using the wrong qualification: UK A Level, AS and International A Level have different codes and documents.
  • Using a future-year assumption: a 2026 threshold does not establish the 2027 threshold.
  • Comparing unlike attempts: an untimed attempt with hints is different evidence from an independent timed paper.
  • Using only a grade label: record the topic errors and lost marks that explain the score.

Find resources for your next attempt

Use the Edexcel AS and A Level resource finder to locate the correct subject and available paper resources. Match the paper and mark scheme before starting. Attempt the paper without answers, mark it carefully, then practise the methods behind your mistakes.

Frequently asked questions

Is 70% always an A?

No. Grade thresholds depend on the qualification and exam series. Use the official table for the papers being assessed.

Can I use 2026 boundaries for a school mock?

They can be a reference for an appropriately matched practice set, but your school determines how its mock is graded. Mixed-year papers and different weightings need care.

Are International A Level boundaries in the same PDF?

Pearson publishes a separate International A Level document. Choose the correct qualification family on its official boundaries page.

What if my result is close to a boundary?

For an official result, discuss the marks and available post-results processes with your centre. For revision, focus on the specific methods that can make your next attempt stronger.
